Nivea is scoring big in Eastern Europee. Beiersdorf’s brand grew more than twice as fast as the Eastern European market in the first semester, the company said in a release.
The brand’s sales in the first half of 2008 increased by a total of 20 percent, with hair care and styling products doing particularly well. Beiersdorf carries on a very positive trend in the area as total sales in Eastern Europe already grew by 28 percent from 2006 to 2007 where they amounted to EUR 552 million.
Nivea sales are especially high in Poland where the brand is a market leader in six product categories. In 2007, Nivea generated sales of EUR 132 million in Poland alone.
Beiersdorf’s Polish production location, the affiliate Nivea Polska, has now expanded its facilities in Pozn·n and also produces branded products for export to the Company’s most important global markets.
